Episode Post FAQ

Sunday Night Rules

Every Sunday night, when there's a new DH episode, one of the mods will post an official episode post (see example here) in the community and will put the community on moderated status for approximately 24 hours.

What does that mean?

Well, basically, if you want to talk about the episode during and after it airs, feel free to leave as many comments as you want in the official episode post. If you want to make your own post about the episode and you post to the community, if it pertains to anything that could be considered a spoiler (and yes, we're strict about the definition of a spoiler), then your post will be held in the queue until Monday late afternoon/evening, eastern time, regardless of whether you used a cut or not.

Why do we do this?

Two reasons.

1) We want to make sure that everyone who wants to see the newest episode without getting spoiled by other fans in this community will get that chance. We figure that waiting until Monday late afternoon/evening to allow open access to the community gives everyone enough time to watch the show, either live when it airs, or download it from iTunes, or watch it if you taped it, etc.

2) We also do it because we don't like to have our friends lists spammed with multiple posts of episode reviews.

Are you doing anything different this year?

Why, yes, we are, thanks for asking. :)

First of all, those of you who were here last season may have noticed that the amount of time that the community is on moderated status has been decreased from Tuesday morning to Monday afternoon/evening.

Also, we're going to take our cue from house_md and if you write any meta posts about the episode in your journal, feel free to comment in the official episode post with a link to that post in your journal and we'll place the link in the official episode post. Take a look at house_md's latest Whiteboard post to see an example.

Any questions?

Ask away.
